Father Victor Speaks from the Heart
My name is: Rev. Fr Victor Asu Dakwan. Born 36 years ago 14th June, I am the last in a family of five.
I'm from Bokyi local government area of cross river state of Nigeria. Studied for the priesthood for nine
years in St Joseph major seminary Ikot Ekpense, an affiliate institute of pontifical urban university Rome
and obtained BA, Bphil in philosophy and aa BA (bachelor of divinity) in theology, Was ordained to
catholic pricsthood in August the 23rd 2008 for diocese of Ogoja. I was appointed assistant
administrator to St. Bamabas cathedral and St. Peter's parish Ikom. Upon the request of bishop Malcolm
for priests to help in the diocese Nottingham, I was then transferred from Nigeria to Derby in June 2010.
And on June 2012 1 was to the Cathedral of St. Barnabas Nottingham. in February 2014, I was moved to
St. Philip Neri Mansfield from where I have come to you.
I have worked also as chaplain to schools, prison, SVP and the charismatic renewal.
My journey to the priesthood is a supported and nurtured by the and community life and support for one
on this pilgrimage means a lot to me. I look forward to joining your wonderful community.
Please pray for the community I'm leaving behind with a heavy heart. They love me and I love them too,

Fr Victor takes over on 08/09/2015 as Fr. Clem moves to Leicester. God willing, Fr. Clem visits his family
after the Sunday Mass on 9th August and returns on 28th August to celebrate the Farewell and Thanksgiving
Masses on thefollowing two weekends.
Thereafter, he welcomes Fr. Victor on 8th September with holy Mass at 7pm in Bourne—Fr. Clem leaves Bourne
on 14th September after 10 am Mass the Feast of Exaltation of the holy cross.
